I live in a condo in Chicago and my house is closed up all winter. I have pets and allergies so I looked into an air purifier. This one had the best reviews. It's a little pricey but it's something I'll have for a long time. I think it was worth every penny. It's so quiet I don't even know its on, I've stopped sneezing all the time and its helped eliminate pet odors too.

I purchased this air purifier because I live in a very small basement apartment with a suspended ceiling and leaky windows. I was noticing a lot of dust particles from the outside coming in along with animal dander. I have a cat and dog. During the day I use it in the main living area and at night I use it in the bedroom. My animals sleep in the bedroom in their own beds. I have noticed a great difference in the air quality in my home now. Even my animals no longer are sneezing every day. I would definately reccomend this to a friend. Great product at a great price. I only wish that it would have been oscilating.

Needed to filter out bacteria and mold from old flood damage and animal stains. It cleaned the air after running on max for 4 hours and kept the air cleaned and not smelling gross since then. Usually you might only need to run it on 2 for most areas. I keep mine on 3. I also run the Ionizer without any problem. All in all it's worth it.

I use it all the time in my bedroom. I also have changed it to other room to clear out pollution too. Your directions were easy to read and follow. The controls on the system light up and you can see them in the dark. I also like the standup console for I think it takes in more volume around the room. There is not a thing that I don't like about it except that I do have to buy filiters. That is to be expected!

I recieved instant benefits when using this unit in my home. My Asthma has gone from moderate to severe and I have to control the air in my home. Within two hours of turning this unit on I gave it the flashlight test. Turned off all lights and shined a flashlight in the room, reflective particles were reduced considerably. I have a permanent UV light in house furnace and don't need to use the one in the unit but I do recommend that those who have to use the UV light leave it running as UV lights are designed to stay on 2 or more years straight, it is the on and off that reduces their life. I would absolutely recommend this unit even for those who do not have asthma problems.

I did research on the best air purifiers over the net.
Generally, any air purifier worth anything in performance is hughly expensive. The small and inexpensive ones are not worth getting.

This was the only one that fit the criteria for an effective air purifier and had a decent price.

I actually have a cat with asthma. With 2 other cats and a 100 year old home, it was a challenge to manage the dust, dander, and poor airflow in my home. In comparing the two, the[...] not only helped my cat's asthma, but we also noticed ~NO~ congestion for ourselves in the morning when we get up from bed. We can't say the same for the Alen Air. When using the Alen Air unit we felt ok, with some congestion in the morning. Also, from a cost perspective, the filters of the Alen air do not last very long compared to the [...]. Overall, the [...] is more expensive up front, but cheaper in the long run then the Alen Air.
